Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiasts, This is going to be possibly my last blog, there’s only two weeks remaining of classes!! I hope to finish soon all my classes and start working as a mechanic very soon. For the moment I will tell you a little bit more of what we have been doing in classes during this week and later a little bit of my life outside Globalia. During the last week one of the things, we did in Llucmajor was finishing the module 5 and 11 and some workshop practises of Module 5. In theses practises we did some fibre optics practices and some related with digital counters, the typical ones of clocks with numbers made of lines. These practises were quite short and not very difficult, but the best thing of the week was going to Globalia’s Hangar and visit the Boeing 787. You cannot imagine how big is the plane and the huge engines that has. We did some photos, and you will see them just above. The practise that we did on the hangar was related with the communi

Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusisats, It’s been a very long time since my last blog and I must say that this is one of my latest blogs. In just one month we will have finished all my exams and the summer holidays will start also. I’m very excited to finish the course and start my practises as soon as possible. During the last weeks we have been doing some practises related with module 5, digital techniques and module 11. My favourite one’s have been related with the ones of module 11 which were about the electrical system of the Cessna 441. I’m really sorry because I couldn’t be able to make a lot of photos but I will try to show you some images to explain everything. The main problem that we have on the Cessna it is that we don’t have electrical power to energize the aircraft. The first thing we did was restoring the batteries and try to energize the aircraft. At the beginning when we connected them, most of the systems of the aircraft worked but the problem came after as t

Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiasts, It’s been a very long time since my last blog and after this hole week of exams if I think it’s time to give some updates! I must say that in Globalia we haven’t done many things in the last weeks as the exams were approaching, and we needed to give all our attention to them. In this blog I would like to explain you a little bit more about this hole weeks of exams. In my case, as I have all the other modules from the last course approved, I only had to go to 3 modules. One of them was very easy and it was the Module 4 which is Electronic Fundamentals. It was only 20 questions and with all the knowledge that we acquired on classes and the workshop most of the class found of the exam quite easy. The second one was Human Factors and, in some way, the test wasn’t very hard, again it was 20 questions. The difficulty part was the written exam which the statement was a little bit confusing, and we weren’t very sure about what was really asking t

Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiast, As you all know this is my first blog of this new year and I must confess that this is also my first blog written from another country. I’m quite excited for this new year because at almost at the end we will finish the course. That means that with a bit of luck we will be able to finally work as an aircraft mechanic. We can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Nevertheless, I want to tell you a little bit about my holidays. Due to the covid pandemic we haven’t been able to celebrate many things as the infections cases have grown too much in the past days. Notwithstanding, we managed to celebrate everything in our houses with the closest relatives of the house, this includes my father, my sister and my girlfriend. On Christmas Day I prepared some cheek in sauce very delicious with some fries and for starter food I prepared some prawns at the grill. They are very tasty and you always finish with your hands very dirty and an easy w

Last weeks of the year!

Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiasts, It’s been a long time since my last blog but here we are again as always. We have been very busy at the workshop these days and we’ve done lot of practises related with hydraulic and pneumatic. Even we started practises related with electronics and we have been able to study the diodes and Zener diodes in real circuits. It’s kind of complex and as we haven’t done many things, I won’t talk about it in this blog. Notwithstanding, we will talk about the hydraulic and the pneumatic. Related with hydraulic we managed to power on the hydraulic pump of the Piper Seneca and it is primarily used for the brakes and the retraction of the landing gear. It is a very simple mechanism and very easy to see and understand. The hydraulic pump is in the front of the aircraft and it is powered on with a normal car battery of 12V. The practise consisted in checking the functioning of the landing gear and see if it retracts correctly. First of all, we managed t
