My last blog??



Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiasts,

This is going to be possibly my last blog, there’s only two weeks remaining of classes!! I hope to finish soon all my classes and start working as a mechanic very soon.


For the moment I will tell you a little bit more of what we have been doing in classes during this week and later a little bit of my life outside Globalia.

During the last week one of the things, we did in Llucmajor was finishing the module 5 and 11 and some workshop practises of Module 5. In theses practises we did some fibre optics practices and some related with digital counters, the typical ones of clocks with numbers made of lines.



These practises were quite short and not very difficult, but the best thing of the week was going to Globalia’s Hangar and visit the Boeing 787. You cannot imagine how big is the plane and the huge engines that has. We did some photos, and you will see them just above.


The practise that we did on the hangar was related with the communication system and antennas of the aircraft. The aircraft has antennas for different systems such as radio, autopilot, emergency locator and many more… We located all of them at the aircraft, and we also saw the avionics compartment and we had the possibility to go inside of the stabilizer. Inside there is the huge worn screw that moves the hole horizontal stabilizer for trimming the aircraft. I really enjoyed visiting the hangar and I hope to be soon working with these types of aircraft!

After explaining the visit I will explain you a little about what we have been doing outisde Globalia. If I’m honest, this week I haven’t done anything special, I’ve started to study for Module 11 and 5 because we have the exams in just one month and also did some F.O.L exercises because each week we have something to do… I’ve also worked at the airport some days but nothing special has happened, the only thing is one pilot gave me a pencil of the company NetJets and I must admit that is quite impressive. It feels good in my hand and also has the rubber and the end for using it in some tactile screens.



One of the things I would like to do when I finish the course, is to repair some things of my car and make a good clean of it. I hope all the things I’ve learnt for repairing planes helps me repairing my car!

Good morning my aeronautics enthusiasts, I know it’s been a few days more since my last blog. I usually publish them on Thursday but it has been a very hard week at the workshop. I had to charge batteries to write this new blog. That been said, I have many things to tell you about this week. As I mentioned in my previous blog, this week we started with something related with cubes. Maybe you still wondering that it’s all about but I will tell you all the necessary to understand everything. This practise consists in fabricating a cube from a cylinder of aluminium. When I first heard about this practise, was when my father told me before starting the course. As he did the course a few years ago, he already did this practise in the past and still preserve his cube. I must admit I was quite nervous as I never did such a complex and complicated task but also a little bit excited, notwithstanding here we start. We're back!!

Good morning everyone, It’s been a while since last blog but here we go again. Today, 27 th of September I started the second course of aeromechanics and I’m quite excited to finish it and start working at the airport. I must admit that last year I really liked the experience, and I would like to share with you one of the best moments I’ve had. I really liked going to class and learning new things but so far the workshop practises and the simulator were the most satisfying ones. At the workshop I’ve learn how to use many tools and their correct way to use them. I’ve never used so many times a drill or even a solder machine, so far the best one. The possibility to use so many tools gave me the ability to defend myself against any trouble related with mechanical problems. It gave me the way to see the problems in other ways I’ve never seen before or to solve them in a more effective way. We also had the possibility to start repairing the new aircraft that we have on the workshop. I

Last weeks of the year!

Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiasts, It’s been a long time since my last blog but here we are again as always. We have been very busy at the workshop these days and we’ve done lot of practises related with hydraulic and pneumatic. Even we started practises related with electronics and we have been able to study the diodes and Zener diodes in real circuits. It’s kind of complex and as we haven’t done many things, I won’t talk about it in this blog. Notwithstanding, we will talk about the hydraulic and the pneumatic. Related with hydraulic we managed to power on the hydraulic pump of the Piper Seneca and it is primarily used for the brakes and the retraction of the landing gear. It is a very simple mechanism and very easy to see and understand. The hydraulic pump is in the front of the aircraft and it is powered on with a normal car battery of 12V.
