Happy New 2022!

 Good afternoon my aeronautics enthusiast,

As you all know this is my first blog of this new year and I must confess that this is also my first blog written from another country. I’m quite excited for this new year because at almost at the end we will finish the course. That means that with a bit of luck we will be able to finally work as an aircraft mechanic. We can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Nevertheless, I want to tell you a little bit about my holidays. Due to the covid pandemic we haven’t been able to celebrate many things as the infections cases have grown too much in the past days. Notwithstanding, we managed to celebrate everything in our houses with the closest relatives of the house, this includes my father, my sister and my girlfriend. On Christmas Day I prepared some cheek in sauce very delicious with some fries and for starter food I prepared some prawns at the grill. They are very tasty and you always finish with your hands very dirty and an easy way to clean it up is to use half lemon and squish it in your hands. That’s a very useful trick!

We also opened up all the gifts and they gave me a new chair for playing the guitar more comfortably and a new SD card for my mobile phone, as mine was full and I couldn’t take any more photos! I really enjoy Christmas and opening all the gifts!

After Christmas, we stayed at home a few more days until the 30th of December because we went visiting my mother at Belgium. We stayed at Belgium until the 8th of January so here we celebrated the New Year’s Eve and my sister’s birthday which is the same day as the magic three kings!

For the new year’s eve we ate a typical meal which is called tomate crevette. This meal consists in an empty tomato filled with very small prawns, called crevettes, mixed with cocktail sauce. It’s a very simple meal but for me one of my favourites ones. After eating we stayed woken up until 12:00 and we ate the 12 grapes like the Spanish tradition. Here in Blegium they don’t eat anything special for the happy new year.

During the next days, we visited some places around my mother house as she moved recently from Malines. Now she is living in Menen, a small town next the the French Frontier. We went to Brugge which I think it is one of the most beautiful villages in all Belgium and later we also went to Oostende very famous because of it’s large beach with many kilometers. I managed to drove the car to all this places and I must confess it is quite challenging driven in Belgium as there much more traffic than in Mallorca, many more roads and as you don’t know the language you don’t understand what is written in the traffic signs.

Finally, the best things comes now. For the three kings and my sister birthday we went to Paris on the 7th of January. It’s been many years since the last time I went to Paris and I was very exciting for going. The worst things was to picking up the bus at 4:15 a.m as we very tired. It is almost three hours of bus but in that way we managed to save some fuel and it was much more cheap than parking the car in Paris. We arrived there around 7 a.m so we could spend the all day at the city. We visited many places such as the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Museum, The Champs Elysses and The Arc of Triumph. This for me has been one of the best trips and I good way to start the year.

For this year I would like to get a little more in shape and start doing a little bit of exercise. Sometimes is hard to achieve this as I always arrive at home around 16:00 then I need to eat, to study and also it is very important to have some time for relaxing yourself. Nevertheless, I will try to find some time to do some exercises.

I hope you enjoyed my blogs as always, see you on the next one and happy new year!
